In recent years, Chinese cardiac rehabilitation and EECP have achieved significant development, which has been actively advocated and promoted by Professor Hu Dayi’s team in China and provides new opportunities for the development of external counterpulsation. Dr. Greg Barsness at Mayo Clinic, who is also presenting at this conference, has worked closely with EECP and cardiac rehabilitation for many years.

EECP/ECP is a safe and effective therapy. It has been proven effective in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and used successfully in cardiac rehabilitation. Since It has similar effects to active exercise, EECP/ECP provides additional enhancement to cardiac rehabilitation programs for those patients for whom traditional rehabilitation may be contraindicated or for those patients unwilling to exercise. The unique advantages of EECP/ECP enrich the cardiac rehab program and it is the favorite choice of patients. Cardiac rehabilitation and external counterpulsation complement each other and will significantly benefit more patients. EECP/ECP supports the vigorous development of its use in cardiac rehabilitation.
